The Systems Engineer is responsible for providing quality technology design and operational support services on assigned to a work team. An engineer will have content expertise with one or more of the content areas:

• Distributed Processing / Shared Services – This area includes distributed processing file server-based services and applications, as well as file server hardware and peripherals

• Client Computing Services - The client computing area includes personal computer hardware, operating systems, personal computer applications, and specialized peripheral devices.

• Core Distributed System Infrastructure - The distributed systems infrastructure area includes shared system power management, the physical cable plant, local network segmentation (i.e., switches, etc.), wide area network segmentation (i.e., routers, etc.), and advanced specialized data communications technologies.

• Direct Support Services - The direct support services area includes network operational support, escalation support (levels two and three), and direct end user support.
